The integration between Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp is one of Facebook’s most ambitious projects in recent years, and although the promise of seeing the first steps in late 2020 has not been moved by the pandemic, the company has yet to announce anything. specifically about the “union” of these 3 platforms.
However, that does not mean that we do not have evidence of what this integration will bring, because the developer Alessandro Paluzzi found very interesting things in the Facebook Messenger code, which were shared through WABetaInfo.
In the case of Messenger and Instagram, things seem to be much easier to integrate because neither of them has end-to-end encryption and are based on the cloud, so here it will not be a headache to conclude the process so that a Messenger user can chat with one of Instagram from one platform and another.

In fact, Facebook is currently working to recommend the installation of Messenger from Instagram.
The real headache is integrating WhatsApp with the other services
Alessandro Paluzzi discovered that apparently in Facebook’s plans is to be able to chat between Messenger and WhatsApp users, also to be able to access the stickers and reactions and even be able to forward messages between one platform and another.
Also, Facebook Messenger will be able to know if a WhatsApp user is blocked, so in theory, it could work so that it is also blocked in Messenger, although this is not confirmed yet.
The problem with all this is that WhatsApp encryption makes it impossible for Messenger or Instagram to access WhatsApp messages, so there would be no way for someone on this platform to send a message to a Messenger user, at least not without break this encryption.
One possible theory for this to happen successfully is the multi-device support that we have already talked about previously, and which could allow Messenger or Instagram to become a “new device” for WhatsApp, which could make integrating services.
However, we must not forget that all this is a development that is being complicated, so in WABetaInfo they do not rule out that this may change in the near future or may even be canceled, but we will have to wait to know more details about it.
