Dyson Introduces Next Generation in Air Purification Technology, a device capable of capturing the H1N1 virus and formaldehydes, improved to be more silent and controlled from the mobile app.
Did you know that human beings breathe up to 9,000 liters of air, and that even before 2020 people spent up to 90% of their time indoors?
The COVID-19 pandemic increased global awareness of the air we breathe indoors and Dyson set out to provide cleaner air through innovation and technology.
Currently, for many, homes are the space where most of our activities take place: working, exercising, playing and living with the family, therefore, the quality of the air that is breathed is not negotiable.
New Dayson range of purifiers captures H1N1 virus and 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 microns such as allergens, bacteria, viruses, pollen, mold spores, and formaldehyde.
Too, destroys potentially dangerous volatile organic compounds (VOCs), including formaldehyde, thus avoiding possible health damage such as irritation to the skin, eyes, nose and throat.
News and key benefits of the new generation of Dyson purifiers
Accurate detection and destruction of formaldehyde
Formaldehyde is a colorless pollutant gas that being 500 times smaller than 0.1 micron size particles, it is especially difficult to capture and, if undetected, can lead to prolonged exposure due to the continuous release of chemicals into the air, which is known as degassing.
Where can we find formaldehyde? In Furniture, plywood, fiber boards, insulating materials, household products such as paint, wallpaper, wood and nail varnishes. Everything we have at home.
While other gel-based formaldehyde sensors can deteriorate over time, Dyson’s new solid-state formaldehyde sensor does not dry out and works in conjunction with Dyson’s exclusive algorithm to verify data every second, accurately detect formaldehyde levels and avoid confusion with other VOCs.
The Dyson Selective Catalytic Oxidation (SCO) filter continually destroys formaldehyde at the molecular level. This means that once it traps the gas, it breaks it down into small amounts of water and CO2. It is then regenerated from the oxygen in the air to continually destroy it without the need to replace it.

HEPA filtration throughout the machine
In the new purifiers of Dyson, not only the filter is HEPA H13 compliant, but the entire machine. Capture the H1N1 virus and 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 microns as allergens, bacteria, viruses, pollen and mold spores. Dyson engineers took a forensic approach to a fully sealed machine, creating high pressure seals at an additional 24 critical points to prevent dirty air from bypassing the filters and returning pollutants to the room.
Acoustically designed to be 20% quieter
Dyson engineers reduced the amount of friction between the air and the surface of the machine, making it 20% quieter. Noise dropped from 64 to 61 decibels at maximum fan speed.
Air Multiplier technology
Thanks to technology Dyson Air Multiplier, the machine can project purified air to every corner of the room. Automatic mode allows the machine to maintain preferred room temperature and air quality levels, while the machine can be fully controlled by the Dyson Link app and activated by voice control.
