Fernando Alonso has achieved his tenth consecutive race in the points zone after signing a great sixth place in the Dutch GP. Race against, comeback and perfect management of each new situation.
Fernando Alonso has done it again. Despite starting in thirteenth position, the Asturian has managed to extend his racing streak in the points zone at the Dutch GP. And he has not achieved it in any way, but with a really valuable sixth place that not even the Alpine pilot himself expected. Race with many open fronts and good decisions for #14.
Alonso has not managed to sign the expected exit and settled the first lap without gaining a single position. After being caught on the outside of the first corner, Fernando rolled up his sleeves to overtaking the two AlphaTauri drivers on the track. Two maneuvers of vital importance for the Spaniard, since it depended on them that the proposed strategy could work.
«I said in Barcelona that I hoped to find a streak and at least do ten races in a row in points and we have achieved it»
Nevertheless, Fernando made his first stop relatively soon, in order to seek clean air and the performance of hard rubbers. The Asturian managed to settle in the points zone before placing a set of new soft tires. This rubber gave the Spaniard an extra to face the last laps of the race.
What in principle was an advantage for Alonso became a small problem with the Safety Car. Despite everything, Fernando managed to control the attacks of Lando Norris and cross the finish line in seventh position, converted into a sixth place due to Carlos Sainz’s five-second penalty for an ‘Unsafe Release’ in which he played with Alonso himself.

Very worked result
Fernando Alonso He has been very honest in the DAZN microphones when analyzing the sixth place he has obtained in the Netherlands: «I did not expect this result. The truth is that we could hope to get into the points, but after the start, which was a bit boxed in from the outside, I thought it was going to be difficult »”
The race has started off moving for the Spaniard. After a complex start, Alonso had to work on the track to gain the top positions. Analyzing this point, Fernando has ensured that «first we overtook the AlphaTauri on the track. We stopped very early to put hard, so we had to squeeze them as much as possible. In the end we had a set of new softs that came in handy».
The prediction of Barcelona
Despite the fact that the strategy was well planned, the last Safety Car has been a small setback for Alonso: «Then the last Safety Car went wrong. Everybody stopped and put on some tires a little cooler than ours. I was scared for [Lando] Norris and by Stephen [Ocon]but in the end we managed to hold on. We would not have imagined finishing sixth yesterday.”
Apart from the race, Fernando Alonso has valued the streak of ten consecutive races in points that he already treasures: “I said in Barcelona that expected to find a streak and do at least ten races in a row in points and we have achieved it. I’m a little scared in Monza, because it will be eleven o’clock. Let’s see if we can do eleven or twelve.”
