Three new titles will arrive in the Netflix video game catalog.
After announcing its new feature, “Extra Member”, the platform focuses its efforts on the gamer community.
Of the three new titles, two will arrive next Tuesday and a third will arrive a little later.
Netflix, the leading streaming content platform, continues with its expansion plan towards video games, announcing the premiere of three titles for the following week.
just last week, Netflix unveiled a new feature that did not sit well with some users of the platformwhich consists of starting to charge extra for each additional user with which subscribers share their account.
Called “Extra Member”, this new function of the platform received harsh criticism in this regard and some subscribers even shared their decision to cancel their account via Twitter, as a way of showing their disagreement with the decision made by the platform. platform.

One of my daughters and my mother use accounts that I pay for on Netflix and do not live with me. Why am I going to pay extra if I already pay for a family plan? #ChaoNetflix

At the moment, this new function will only be tested in countries such as Chile, Costa Rica and Peru, although the idea of taking it to other regions is not ruled out.
Netflix bets on video games
In the meantime, Netflix is now focusing its efforts on the gamer communityafter last year the streaming service shared its plans to launch a platform for the development of video games for smartphones.
On that occasion, the platform announced the inclusion of five video games, which could be downloaded through Google Play: Stranger Things: 1984; Stranger Things 3: The Game; Shooting Hoops; Card Blast; and Teeter Up.
“Whether you want a casual game that you can start from scratch, or an immersive experience that lets you delve into your favorite stories, we want to start building a library of games that offers something for everyone. We are in the early days of creating a great gaming experience and are thrilled to take you on this journey with us.”
Now, and after these titles did not seem to have had the expected response, the platform has in mind the launch of three new video games or titles, which may arrive next week.
It should be noted that this new third party will be available for users with smartphones with iOS and Android systems, which have their subscription to the platform.
The three new games that will arrive in the Netflix Games catalog are: This Is a True Story, Shatter Remastered and one that will take a little longer to arrive, Into the Dead 2: Unleashed.
The first two will be ready from next Tuesday, while for the third there is still no specific date for its launch, although, yes, this speaks of the effort that Netflix is making to reach the wide gaming community around the world.
Now, this does not mean that there are no more releases of series and/or movies, which will continue to happen, but with video games seems to be giving a new impetus with the purchase of the development studios Next Games and Oxenfree to bring more titles to its catalog.
Netflix currently continues to lead the streaming market with more than 220 million subscribersdespite the fact that it recently lost just over a million after its decision to suspend its services in Russia due to the invasion in Ukraine.
On the other hand, it remains to be seen what the consequences would be if the platform decides to implement its “Extra Member” function worldwide, especially after seeing how some users have reacted.
