SpaceX’s first civilian crew mission will take off in September and Netflix has announced that it will shoot a documentary about the event.
Sometimes, some of the documentaries that Netflix and other platforms make convey the feeling of having a promotional function rather than an informative or critical one. With Countdown, something similar to focus on the next SpaceX mission to be narrated “almost in real time“, as reported by the platform.
In the space race that is being lived between different countries and private companies, the name of SpaceX has stood out in recent times. The company founded by Elon Musk has captured everyone’s attention with its missions, projects and explosions, but in September they have an ambitious challenge that can mark an era.
SpaceX will launch the Inspiration4 mission with the particularity that the crew will be made up of civilians. The trip will be to the orbit of the planet and everything will be shot by Netflix, who has already announced their episode plan.
The documentary series Countdown will consist of 5 episodes. The first two will be released on September 6 and the next two on the 13th. the training of civilians and how the mission is being prepared. Then one more will be broadcast with the launch and images from space, although a date has not yet been announced.
We assume that they cannot confirm the release date of the last episode due to the possibility of the mission being delayed due to any circumstances, as well as due to the process of collecting and assembling the images which requires.
In any case, this has been the official announcement of the documentary that Netflix has launched through his Twitter account:
This September, four civilians will launch into space for a three-day trip orbiting Earth.

Crew will stay in orbit for about five days and, if all goes well, there will be plenty of material for the last episode of the series. It will be necessary to see how interesting the recorded images are and the audience that they achieve with this documentary that can be beneficial to SpaceX and Netflix.
Countdown will be available in just over a month and we will be able to check what these companies offer us and if there are any surprises in the announced documentary.
