In the midst of the constant premieres and arrivals of new films, series and documentaries to its catalogue, there are often several productions that were a success in Netflixbut over the months many people still do not see them.
And one of those cases is this shocking Australian film based on a chilling true story: “The stranger”.
The film based on a brutal true story
“An undercover cop forms an intense connection with a murder suspect, while trying to gain his trust and extract a confession.”
This is how Netflix describes this two hour long film and which stars actors Sean Harris and Joel Edgerton.
The film is based on the novel “The covert operation that caught the murderer of Daniel Morcobe”, where it is counted a case that occurred in 2003: the disappearance and murder of a 13-year-old boy, case that led to a multi-year investigation.
And although the film was critically acclaimed, Daniel Morcobe's family rejected it, criticizing the making of the film.
“The passage of time doesn't make it easier. “Personally, we believe that the making of this film is morally corrupt and a cruel, callous and selfish money grab by everyone involved,” the boy's parents said.
But despite the controversy, the film is on Netflix and is an option for those who want to see this shocking production.
