Netflix finally released the first trailer and release date of ‘Pinocchio’, the long-awaited version of the mythical story made by William Del Toro using stop motion animation. More than three years have had to pass since the project was officially announced to see this advance and we will still have to wait longer until we can see it from December 2022.
The Mexican filmmaker has written the script for this new version of ‘Pinocchio’ together with Patrick McHale, Gray Grimly and Matthew Robbins, taking charge of management tasks, a responsibility that in this case has been shared with Mark Gustafson.
This new version of ‘Pinocchio’ will be a very personal vision of the classic Italian tale, since in addition to stop motion animation, it will also be a musical. A very promising cocktail to tell us about the pranks that the protagonist commits in his adventures to become a flesh and blood child.
The unknown Gregory Mann will be the one to lend his voice to Pinocchio in the original version of the film, but watch out for the rest of the voice cast: Ewan McGregor What Jiminy Cricket, David Bradley, Ron Perlman, Tilda Swinton, Christoph Waltz, Cate Blanchett, who also recently collaborated with del Toro on ‘The Alley of Lost Souls’, Tim Blake Nelson, Finn Wolfhard, Burn Gorman and John Turturro.
