Much is said about the benefits of stimulating the baby from the moment it is in the womb, but there are many myths around it. Know the truth in our note.
When the baby is still in the womb, it is important to talk to him, play, caress your tummy, etc. But in the effort to get him to respond to certain stimuli and pretend that these will make him smarter, even before birth, certain myths arise that may not help babies very much, but may worry parents:
Listen to music
Myth. Classical music increases sensory alertness and improves attention from an early age and accelerates the learning of babies.
Reality. The activity is coherent, as long as it is fully enjoyed by the mother; listening to relaxing, enjoyable, sequential, and lyrical music gives you more inspiration.
But it is very important that you feel a taste for that style of music, satisfaction for the moment. Otherwise, what it will generate is a completely opposite effect for the baby. Which would be contradictory for their development and well-being. The recommendation is to put music of all kinds to the baby, at a pleasant volume and avoid percussion because it generates large sound waves that vibrate the amniotic fluid and make the baby very uncomfortable.
Clothes
Myth. Mom’s clothes should be clear so that the baby has the best chance of being close to the outside world; clear clothing and relevant exposure of the tummy to the sun allow natural light to be a visual stimulus for the baby, in addition to other nutritional contributions.
Reality. Everything that the future mother does during the nine months of gestation, that are pleasant and gratifying, will also be for the baby. But the truth is that it is six cm. away from the skin, so visual stimulation is not very easy.
