- Ms. Information has been launched, the platform that invites the LGBT community to get vaccinated against Covid-19
The world of disinformation about Covid-19 continues to advance, it does not stop and, sadly, it is causing significant havoc. Given this, a new platform called Ms. Information has been launched, the platform that invites the LGBT community to get vaccinated against Covid-19.
There is no doubt that, today, social networks have become a great tool in our daily lives. Being “romantic”, these have allowed us to connect with friends and family in times when we must keep our distance to avoid catching Covid-19.
They are also a window to other realities, other worlds, where ideas converge and an interesting dialogue can be established about what is happening in the world. However, not everything is good in the universe of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and others.
During the pandemic, which officially started in March of last year, but before that, a phenomenon known as “infodemic” began to circulate in networks, which, with the advance of the disease, also became much more relevant .
Then, with the advance of Covid-19, the confinement and the rush to find a vaccine against the disease, this phenomenon managed to position itself and sneak into the devices of Internet users who could not escape it.
Currently, in times where there has been a bit of progress in global vaccination, the infodemic has caused significant damage, causing a large part of the population to decide not to go to vaccination centers and even calling people not to do so.
It is undoubtedly one of the great challenges to face and, for this, social networks themselves have carried out strategic campaigns to counteract the effects of misinformation. Thus, Facebook, Twitter and even TikTok are designing new ways to invite citizens to inoculate.
Among the wide range of strategies that currently exist, there is one in particular that is attracting attention thanks to the way it is being presented.
The platform is named Ms. Information and it is directed towards one sector in particular: the LGBTQ + community. Its objective is to encourage LGBTQ + people to get vaccinated, as well as to provide the concrete and necessary information about Covid-19.
This campaign is also presenting an ad starring Miz Jade, one of the community’s most influential drag queens, who also focuses on other issues of relevance to the community, such as HIV and AIDS.
To make this new campaign or strategy stronger, it has been taken to the field of social networks, on Instagram to be more precise, this being the perfect setting to reach more audiences, taking into account the power that social networks are having in the actuality.
The scenario is worrying, because, as we have seen, misinformation about anything generates chaos and fear among the population, forcing them to make decisions that might not be correct.
In a context where Covid-19 continues to advance in infections and deaths, it is necessary to continue fighting against everything that impedes the well-being of the population at a global level.
Even from the White House, the president of the United States, Joe Biden, has called on social networks to design more effective and aggressive strategies against disinformation about Covid-19.
