The connections of fiber optic to the home (FTTH) they reached 12.6 million lines at the end of November 2021, according to data regarding the telecommunications market published by the CNMC (National Markets and Competition Commission). 38.1% of the total FTTH lines correspond to Movistar, with a fleet of 4.8 million lines. Meanwhile, Spain is reducing the white and gray areas of fiber, that is, those that will not have ultra-broadband in less than three years. The CNMC is the body that promotes and preserves the proper functioning of all markets of interest, both for consumers and companies. Telecommunications statistics – November 2021
The lines mobile broadband voice closed the month of November 2021 with a total of 48.5 million lines, 2.9% more than in the same month of 2020. Which means that 87% of mobile lines on that date already had Internet access according to the latest data published by the CNMC.
In total, mobile telephone lines added 74,874 new lines in November, reaching 55.72 million (one 1.6% more than a year ago) where Movistar, Orange and Vodafone represent 74% of the total mobile lines in the market.
Mobile portability exceeded 600 thousand operator changes. The MoreMobile Group and virtual mobile operators (MVNOs) were awarded positive net portability balances, while Vodafone, Orange and Movistar presented negative balances.
Refering to fixed broadband, November added 35,985 new lines to a total of 16.13 million, which represents a monthly growth of 101,014 lines. Looking back, compared to the previous year, the increase of 1.2 million FTTH lines stands out compared to the loss of 0.6 million lines with DSL technology.
Finally, according to the telecommunications statistics of November 2021, more than 31 thousand fixed lines were lost and the month closed with a total of 18.57 million lines, while 177 thousand fixed numbers were ported. In addition, the indirect access service NEBA (FTTH and copper) added 2,416 lines in November and accumulates 994,066 lines, of which 948,577 are fiber. The data reveals that the month of November ended with 2,012,692 local NEBA lines.
