Movistar has reached an agreement with Infront Sports & Media, through which it has signed the issuance of the italian soccer during the next three seasons, thus extending for the seasons 2021/22, 2022/23 and 2023/24.
It will be broadcast on #Vamos and Movistar Champions League
The italian league It has been key in the operator’s football offer, being one of the most important in the world in constant growth, and with high quality as evidenced by the fact that, for example, Italy won the last European Championship. In addition, great players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Lautaro, Ibrahimovic or Insigne play in it, as well as Spaniards such as Álvaro Morata, Fabián Ruiz, Borja Mayoral or Brahim.
The operator will include this content on its sports channels, including the HD multi-window, and programs dedicated to football every day in which what happened in this league will be analyzed.
The contents will be seen on two channels. In #Come on (dial 8), the monitoring of the news of the A series, in addition to broadcasting the best game of each day of the competition. The rest of the matches can be seen through the channel Movistar Champions League (dial 50), including multi-window channels and the best football commentators.
Ligue 1 is still to be licensed
After this renewal, now it only remains to know what will happen to the French Ligue 1, which Movistar also normally emits, and which in principle should renew soon. The arrival of Messi at PSG should increase interest in these rights, so it would not be surprising if Movistar kept them.
Among the soccer rights that Movistar already has, we find LaLiga, UEFA, and several international leagues, including the Bundesliga and now Serie A. On the operator’s own website we can read that “they will update in the coming days the details of the international football competitions that they will offer.” Here it is expected that they specify Series A, and others may be added.
The Bundesliga will continue on Movistar until at least 2024, while the Premier League will continue until 2025 on DAZN, and will also be available to Movistar customers. Other leagues that will continue not to be seen in Spain, in principle, will be the Eredivisie of the Netherlands, and the Argentine League.
