After months of launching the offers for back to school, Movistar and Vodafone have reactivated the campaign with new promotions to attract new customers interested in hiring fiber only, who will enjoy a discounted price for the first nine months.
It was Movistar who started this new war at the end of September and Vodafone ended up responding in October, again extending the hiring period. Vodafone is more aggressive in the low price and includes calls from landline to mobile, but the fiber speed is half that of Movistar and has a 12-month stay. Instead, Movistar has no permanence and does not include calls from landline to mobile.
Fiber from 15.49 euros per month, cheaper than an MVNO the first year
Offers start from 15.49 euros for fiber at 300 Mbps in the case of Vodafone, and 19.90 euros for fiber at 600 Mbps in the case of Movistar Conecta. Afterwards, the price is 30.99 and 44 euros respectively.
After nine months of the promotional price, in Movistar the service could be canceled without any type of penalty as there is no permanence, but if the service is contracted throughout the first year, Movistar and Vodafone offers will continue to be cheaper than the offers of the cheapest MVNOs.
Taking finetwork or Digi as a reference in cheap fiber prices, 300 Mbps would have a Annual cost of 311 euros, compared to 232 euros that you would end up paying on Vodafone, while for 600 Mbps you would end up paying 359 euros, compared to 311 euros that would cost in Movistar.
Beyond the price, Movistar will be the only one that offers symmetry In all areas with fiber coverage, while in Vodafone, the upload speed is limited to 100 Mbps in areas with HFC cable of the old ONO. Regarding the landline, in Digi it is optional if you pay a supplement, while in finetwork it is not available.
