Getting all the achievements out of a game or “platinating it” is one of the favorite challenges of the most dedicated gamers and is an element that gives added replay value, an important aspect when looking to get the most out of the investment made in a title.
To achievement systems that have platforms like Steam, PlayStation and Xbox Now the one that Epic Games will implement from next week is added, according to shared information on the official site of the company.
The incorporation will be through a toolkit for developers that will allow them to begin integrating a new system of achievements to certain games that are part of the catalog of Epic Games Store. The system will be based on earning EXP while playing and the video games that will have it in the beginning will be Rocket league, Hades, Pillars of Eternity, Kena, Zombie Army 4 and Alan Wake Remastered, among others.
Epic achievements will be divided into four groups and will be classified depending on the EXP that is obtained: From 5 to 45 XP will give a bronze achievement; 50 to 95 XP will be a Silver one; 100 to 200 XP will be one of gold and the coveted platinum will be obtained with 250 EXP.
It is important to clarify that there was already an achievement system that was known as “developer achievements”. The difference is that these were now managed directly by the developers themselves.
Epic seeks to offer direct benefits for players with the new achievement system and therefore resembles what we have seen on other platforms such as Xbox, PlayStation or Steam.
Lastly, users who have unlocked Developer Achievements can rest easy as their progress will carry over to the new system and they will automatically earn EXP on their accounts.
