There’s a lot of CGI in the Moon Knight series, but they’ve also used practical effects on the Egyptian Gods’ costumes.
A very important part of Moon Knight are the Egyptian Gods, for now we have been able to see Khonshū Already Taweret (Hippopotamus) and although both are made by CGI, the costume design team led by Meghan Kasperlik, he created actual costumes for the production to reference.
This is how she explains it meghan casperlik in a recent interview: “The Khonshu costume is a fully functional costume. Taweret’s costume is also designed and produced from head to toe. Both Khonshu and Taweret are made in-house, so that was really exciting.”
“The Taweret costume that we just saw very, very briefly in Moon Knight has a lot of impressive detail. There is the headdress that has the dance of childbirth and the prayer of childbirth of ancient Egypt, because Taweret means biological mother. Every one of the hieroglyphs on the front that you can barely see at this point is amazing.”
“But there are hieroglyphics down there and under all the ornamentation, it has a phenomenal skirt that you can barely see, but my team cut those strips by hand and then stitched them together in such an amazing way. I hope it’s one of those costumes that will be on display because it’s just… In person, it’s amazing.”
So far we have only seen Taweret (the goddess of childbirth and fertility) at the end of the fourth episode of moon knight, but it may be more important in the remaining two. Where they should explain to us many things about everything that is happening. But you have to admit that this series is unlike anything we’ve seen before. Marvel Studios.
