Two calculations made by two different minds agree on the date on which the end of the world will be recorded. A supercomputer from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), for its acronym in English) and Bill Gates know when the apocalypse will happen. Do we have time to do something?
The motives of both powerful minds are the same: humanity’s treatment of the planet will take its toll much sooner than we thought.
According to reports from the NOAA observatory in Hawaii, United States, Bill Gates has warned that we have a deadline until the year 2050 to eliminate 51,000 million tons of greenhouse gases. Otherwise, the process will be irreversible and much of the world will become uninhabitable: “It can be irreversible if we arrive too late”
Carbon dioxide (CO2) has reached alarming levels in the atmosphere, exceeding pre-Industrial Revolution levels by 50%. This exponential increase in emissions is causing unexpected transformations on our planet and threatening both agriculture and livestock.
That same date is the one that the ‘Big Think’ supercomputer, the most powerful in Australia, has in its records.
The prediction made by the supercomputer was produced thanks to the system called World One, which established that by the year 2020 humanity would reach a point of no return in the process that would lead to its extinction.
According to ‘Big Think’, if human civilization does not apply environmentally friendly actions, immediately, life on earth will only be until the years 2040 and 2050. Something alarming since there is talk of just a few years.
