It’s been a couple of years since what ray tracing technology could offer in Minecraft was taught for the first time and, although there have been no news about its final implementation so far, it seems that its final implementation is closer than ever. It would have support for Xbox Series X | S, apart from PC, according to the latest test version for insiders of the Microsoft console.
According to Tom Warren, a journalist for The Verge, The latest test version of Minecraft on Xbox Series X|S has some elements of ray tracing. This build is only available to select users through the Microsoft Consoles Insider Hub.
“Minecraft with ray tracing on Xbox?” Warren asks through his Twitter account. “The latest Minecraft preview is optimized for Xbox Series X|S and has early ray tracing support“.

Apparently in this preview of Tom Warren, Minecraft ray tracing support on Xbox Series X|S consoles appears to be still very limited, so it is to be expected that it will still take some time to be implemented definitively. Back in 2020, before the consoles launched, Digital Foundry was able to test this ray-traced version of Minecraft on Xbox Series X|S and the result was absolutely amazing.
A little later than expected by many fans, but it seems that, finally, Minecraft will have ray tracing on Xbox Series X | S this year. Xbox games are also expected to take advantage of improvements to AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 technology in the near future.
