A new edition of Corralejo tequila bottles that honor the memory of Jose Alfredo Jimenez is available to lovers of Mexican music. This year is called “Midnight guitars.
The last edition of the project involved 25 bottles as a symbol of the 25 years of the Corralejo tequila company. Each bottle was designed by different artists from different regions of the Republic.
For this second edition, “Midnight Guitars”, the project was registered within the framework of the José Alfredo Jiménez International Festival that was held from November 18 to 21, 2022.
A special 99,000-hour bottle called “El Rey” stands out, while the ordinary collection is made up of 20 works that will be on display until January 8, 2023 in the José Alfredo Jiménez House Museum.
The number is not a product of chance either, there are 20 works of art in bottles because Dolores Hidalgo celebrates 20 years as a Magical Town, being the first of all Guanajuato.
During the Tianguis de los Pueblos Mágicos event, held in Oaxaca, 20 bottles were delivered to 20 different artists from different Magical Towns of the country, including Ajijíc, Xilitla, Tepoztlán, Salvatierra, Mineral de Pozos, and Taxco. The objective is to capture a work that represents an experience, song or story of José Alfredo Jiménez. This is how the designs of “Midnight Guitars” were born.
