Microsoft’s Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase is a few hours away, one of the most important digital events for the announcement season in the video game industry. According to new rumors, we could see a Banjo-Kazooie resurrection during the event.
This week ModernVintageGamer, content creator and developer at NightDive Studios, said he had heard of a Banjo Kazooie resurrection that would be shown during the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase. He said so on the Nate the Hate podcast.
I’ve talked to a lot of people, and I’m not an insider, I’m a developer, but sometimes I hear things and I was at GDC earlier this year and there were some people talking about Banjo.”

“Banjo is going to be on this show, and it’s going to be announced.”, said the content creator in the podcast. According to ModernVintageGamer, he learned that Microsoft was planning a revival of the series by talking to other developers, as he heard people talking about Banjo and his new game at GDC.
The developer also says he’s been hearing for months that something Banjo-Kazooie is on the way, though he’s not sure what it is. The supposed resurrection of Banjo-Kazooie could be a new installment, a collection of the previous games or a remake, since the series has been absent for a couple of generations.
Banjo-Kazooie’s popularity peaked when he arrived as a fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and the original game is available through the Nintendo Switch Online subscription service. In the meantime, you can listen to Banjo-Kazooie Re-Jiggyed, a remix of the N64 soundtrack by Grant Kirkhope.
