Microsoft Teams has become one of the pillars of Microsoft 365. The COVID19 pandemic caused an unprecedented acceleration of digitization processes around the world. In this way, those in Redmond have endowed the service with all the possible features to satisfy the demands of their customers and turn it into a “hub” for teleworking.
One of the most demanded features was the inclusion of webinars on the platform, avoiding the use of third-party services with their added cost. Thus, companies could use the service as a learning point for their employees. Of this, we could see some brushstrokes during the presentation of Microsoft Viva, but now we see its complete integration in Microsoft Teams.
Webinars and all their features come to Microsoft Teams
Creating a webinar is not simply creating a meeting and inviting attendees, as is often done in Microsoft Teams. Webinars require additional features such as custom registration forms, in which attendees can register, or statistics on how the presentation went. For example, the service will provide a report at the end of the webinar with data on the number of attendees, audience peaks, retention time…
Of course, organizers will be able to disable attendee video and audio, and presenters will have new options to show their presentation. Regarding the number of attendees, webinars with up to a thousand attendees may be created. However, if it is an event in which the attendees will be only as listeners, the figure increases to 20 thousand people.
This number of attendees is marked by the health crisis that we are experiencing. However, Microsoft indicates that the limit for webinars in Microsoft Teams will be lowered to 10,000 starting June 30. It should be noted that this novelty will be included in all Microsoft 365 plans for companies at no additional cost.
