The Redmond giant is a company with more than thirty years behind it. This means that some services are already outdated as in the case of MSN (MicroSoft Network) that was born in 1995. Since then it has seen a timid improvement, but never a radical change as needed. Now born Microsoft Start, the starting point for our news and interests.
Microsoft Start, news and interests based on our preferences
Microsoft Start is a personalized news source and collection of informational content. This provides premium publisher news, timely updates tailored to our interests and available when and where we need it. Microsoft Start will begin rolling out today and will be available:
- On the web (available in Microsoft Edge and Chrome) – MicrosoftStart.com
- As an application for Android and iOS
- From the News and Interests experience in Windows 10
- From the Windows 11 Widgets experience
- From the new tab area in Microsoft Edge
Microsoft Start builds on Microsoft’s legacy with online and mobile consumer services such as MSN and Microsoft News. MSN has been providing users with news and content online for over 25 years and will continue to be available.
Microsoft wants to continue consolidating its position in the field of news jAlong with its ecosystem of publishers. Adding value for both partners and users. Microsoft Start brings new technology to content experiences, including the latest Microsoft advancements in AI and machine learning. This, coupled with human moderation, will help people keep up with personalized information based on their interests.
I no longer need to check multiple sources to keep up to date. Instead, we’ll get news updates and more in one engaging and informative place. Looking for the latest scores? Looking for my next stock pick? Make sure the weather doesn’t affect my plans? Microsoft Start takes care of everything.
Sometimes I just need some last minute information. For this, my feed includes information cards on topics such as weather, finances, sports and traffic. I can adjust which information cards are included in my experience and focus only on the information I want.
Reunification after Windows 8
The most veteran of the web will remember how Microsoft separated MSN content at the time in various apps: Sports, Money, News and even Health. Now with Microsoft Start everything is unified in a single point and hopefully it will rise to the occasion.
