When analyzing video games, there are some pages that end their texts with a score, which for some may be a factor to take into account when purchasing any product. This is where Metacritic comes in, the portal in charge of collect the different scores awarded by web pages most important in the world.
All this generates a series of statistics that each year leaves us with a list of the best video game companies based on the titles they have published. Thus, it has been confirmed that, taking this Metacritic data as a reference, Microsoft has been the best company of 2021 and very prominent ahead of Sony, which ranks second.
Although the ranking is made up of a total of 43 different companies, we we show you the top 20 in order of the highest score they have achieved. This order is governed by a series of percentages and points that are distributed as follows:
- The average score of all published games.
- The percentage of video games with good scores, between 75 and 100.
- The percentage of video games with poor scores, between 49 and 0.
- The number of great video games that have achieved a 90 or higher.
It is important to point out that only US-produced releases in 2021, while sales, user ratings and mobile titles have been left out. All this leaves us with the table that we invite you to consult below.

Humble Games has been very close to remaining in second position, but it is also striking that Nintendoanother of the most important companies, is ranked 14th and only half of its video games have achieved a score higher than 75.
Finally, Mege Games has been in charge of finishing the list with an average of 61.5 and a total of 198.5 points. Even so, it should be noted that only those companies that have published a minimum of five video games that have received a score.
