Last spring the arrival at Xbox consoles of the high dynamic range system Dolby Vision, a launch that has been delayed until now, when Microsoft has confirmed that they already have it ready for deployment.
It will be in the Xbox Series X and Series S models, which already had HDR10, the basic high dynamic range system, and which will now incorporate compatibility with this Dolby Vision system based on dynamic metadata, thus accompanying the sound Dolby Atmos to offer a more cinematic gaming experience.
The idea of the manufacturer is that initially there 100 next-gen titles available as “Ori and the Will of the Wisps”, “Psychonauts 2”, “F1 2021”, “Microsoft Flight Simulator”, “Gears 5”, “Borderlands 3”, “Immortals Fenyx Rising” or “The Division 2”, while others will arrive a little later as “Halo Infinite” from December 2021.
Special functions such as VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), raytracing and ALLM (auto low latency mode) and the possibility of play at 120 fps in 4K in some of them using Dolby Vision at the same time.
In addition, once we have configured the system and if we have a compatible television, Dolby Vision format will be activated by default on TV when the game supports it. What are the requirements to start it?

Of course, in the first place we will need to have a television compatible with Dolby Vision from brands such as LG, Panasonic, Philips, Sony and others, although for the moment only in LG models we can play at 4K and 120 Hz.
We can check if our TV is compatible by pressing the Xbox action button and accessing Settings> General> TV & display options> 4K TV details.
And to activate the function we must go to Settings> General> TV & display options> Video Modes> Dolby Vision for Gaming
In addition, from Microsoft they recommend disable all rendering enhancements TV picture, especially motion smoothing functions, as they increase the response time of the screen.
