fans of Return to the future They had a weekend full of emotions. The New York Comic Con was the perfect time for the meeting between Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox, protagonists of the successful saga. When the two took the stage, the crowd erupted in applause and were moved to tears. The duo embraced warmly after many years and provided one of the most emotional moments of the year.
Many of the comments on social media made reference to Michael J. Fox disease and the obvious havoc it has caused in their day-to-day life. In 1991, when she was 29 and his career was taking off, Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. Despite the fact that the doctors gave him a term of no more than 10 years to continue acting, the remembered Marty McFly announced his retirement until April 2021.
In an interview for PeopleFox spoke about his illness and how he came to accept his condition, seeing it more as a new opportunity than a negative.
“Acceptance is not resignation. Now I can move on. I can start the Michael J. Fox Foundation. I can work with other patients. I can be with my family and let them worry about me.”
During the round of questions and answers, his words were forceful: Christopher Lloyd has been a fundamental part of his life for years, so much so that he has supported him during several difficult moments.
“Parkinson’s is a gift that he keeps taking, but it’s a gift and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. People like Chris have been there a long time for me, and many of you haven’t. It’s not about what I have, it’s about what I’ve been given: the voice to do this and help people. People don’t believe me, but I love life. I love being with my family”.
Both also talked about how the filming of Return to the future, which is now a movie classic. Originally, Marty McFly would be played by Eric Stoltz, however, various problems caused his departure from the tape. Fox’s entry was not as complicated as one might think, as Lloyd felt it was a great decision.
“I didn’t know Michael, I had only heard of him. I felt like I had barely made it past six weeks (of filming), and now I was going to have to do it all over again? But, as they say, there was immediate chemistry,” said Lloyd (via).
Christopher Lloyd is still present in the world of acting. In recent years he has participated in films such as Nobody, hit with style Y Sin City: A Lady I’d Kill For. What do you think of this emotional moment? Were they one of those who were moved to tears?
John Joseph Cruz I am one of those who always defended Robert Pattinson as Batman and can see the same movie in the cinema up to 7 times. My guilty pleasure? Low budget horror movies.
