Mexico responds to the message that Lula gives Bolsonaro after the takeover of Brazil
Today, during the press conference “La Mañera”, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO)was questioned about the similarities between the speech of the new president of Brazil and his speech after having taken possession of the country respectively.
This is what President AMLO said:
“We are very happy with the arrival of President Lula. It was quite an event because it is the return of a popular project, not an oligarchic one. President Lula faced a very strong onslaught that landed him unjustly in jail, and he resisted and got out of prison to rule Brazil again. He did it, as he himself expressed it yesterday, despite the fact that they used a lot of public and private money to prevent him from succeeding. And he did it, with the support of the people of Brazil”.
In the same way, he assured that there is a friendly relationship between him and Lula, and assured that, according to Beatriz Gutierrez MullerDa Silva would visit Mexico very soon.
Finally, he stressed that the political and ideological profile of both countries coincides in the sense that “both countries fight for equality.” However, regarding the handling of the speech itself, he did not comment too much, limiting himself to congratulating the new president on his return to power.
