The World Taekwondo Championship is the largest sporting event received in Jalisco in the last 10 years.
The Mexican Daniela Souza won gold medal at the World Championships taekwondo in Guadalajara 2022.

Mexico obtained its second gold medal in the World Taekwondo Championship that was held in Guadalajara, the Mexican Daniela Souza At just 23 years old, she defeated Chinese competitor Quing Guoen 2-1 in the less than 49 kg category.
The Taekwondo World Championship, is based in the City of Guadalajara, Mexico, the competitions are dated from Monday 14 to Sunday 20 November.
The inauguration ceremony of the XXV World Taekwondo Championship was held at the Metropolitan Aquatic Complex, this sporting event had several important guests from the state of Guadalajara, in addition to other prominent authorities, the Governor of the State of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro Ramirez; Chungwon Choue, President of the World Taekwondo Federation; Ana Gabriela Guevara Espinoza, general director of the National Commission for Physical Culture and Sports, as well as Franciso Raymundo González, President of the Mexican Taekwondo Federation.
In the celebration, an outstanding taekwondo athlete, María del Rosario Espinoza, was also honored. Through a video, her great effort was recognized with her three Olympic medals, as well as Pan American, World and Central American medals.

The winners of day 3 of the Guadalajara 2022 Taekwondo World Cup were: Daniela Souza who won gold for first place, Quing Guoen won silver and bronze for Dunya Abutaleb from Saudi Arabia and Panipak Wongpattanakit from Thailand.
