García de Alba has indicated that Italy is the sixth country with the highest levels of tequila consumption thanks to a 50% increase in the last year, which raises imports to the country to 2.7 million liters per year, surpassing Australia for the first time. and Canada.
At the same time, the Mexican representative has announced that a “strong transversal program” will be offered next year with 18 activities that will commemorate the 150 years of diplomatic relations between Italy and Mexico, which began on December 15, 1874.
Before the event, the embassy is working on other important events such as the arrival in the Italian city of Naples of the Training Ship of the Mexican Military Navy “Cuauhtémoc”, on July 29, six years after the last passage of the ship through Italy. .
During that 72-hour stop, the “Cuauhtémoc” will host a meeting between the Mexican consuls of Italy, Albania, Malta and San Marino on July 31, at a time of “changes” in the diplomatic team in these countries.
