In June, a possible update on 3D avatars had already been anticipated. Today it is already a reality: Meta avatars have arrived on WhatsApp.
The news was given by Mark Zuckerberg himself on his Facebook account. “We bring the avatars to WhatsApp! Now you can use your avatar as a sticker in chats. More styles are coming in all our applications”it reads.
However, as in all technological releases, avatars still do not reach all iOS or Android devices. The incorporation will be progressive and your smartphone it must be up to date.
On the other hand, WhatsApp was the last Meta application that was missing to introduce personalized avatars. So, little by little, they are already available in Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.
Meta’s Year of Avatars
Since February, Meta users have been able to create their 3D avatar for the Facebook metaverse. Although they already existed, it was an update to turn them into more detailed three-dimensional representations.
At the time, they could already be used to interact on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Quest, their virtual platform.
“We are updating Meta’s avatars with many more expressions, faces and skin tones, as well as wheelchairs and hearing aids,” Zuckerberg wrote at the time.
Are you excited about the news or are the avatars from Meta to WhatsApp already too much?
