On February 3, this car was auctioned by the Bonhams house, which, among other iconic machines, was already in charge of selling an F1 Benetton with which “Schumi” knew how to compete. AT TORK we show you some details of what is a new vehicle suitable for collectors.
Michael Schumacher (Germany, January 3, 1969) is a former German racing driver. He has won seven Formula 1 world championships: two with the Benetton team in 1994 and 1995, and five with Ferrari between 2000 and 2004, thereby surpassing the five championships won by Juan Manuel Fangio.
On December 29, 2013, while enjoying the Christmas holidays with his family, he suffered a very serious accident hitting his head while skiing in the French winter resort of Méribel (in Les Allues, Savoie, French Alps), while skiing off-piste. Since then, the real state of his health is unknown, since the family hardly gives any information about it.
It was 2009 when Michael Schumacher announced his return to Formula 1. The German, then 42 years old, returned to the category that still has him as the greatest champion in history thanks to an ambitious project, led by another great comeback: the Mercedes Benz. As a benefit for competing with the Silver Arrows, the seven-time world champion received a Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG, vehicle to use in his daily life with his wife and children.
The Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG that the oldest of the Schumacher brothers knew how to drive is part of the W024 generation of the C-Class, manufactured between 2007 and 2015. The C63 variant was the most powerful, as it had the following drive system: V8 6.2 L, delivers 450 CV and 600 Nm of torque, Acceleration from 0 to 96 km/h: 4s approx. It has rear-wheel drive and a seven-speed automatic gearbox.
After having used it for seven months, Schumacher sold the C63 AMG to a Swiss man, who kept it in his possession until 2015. Three years later it changed hands again, later arriving at an auction house. The German family car has about 152,000 kilometers, and in theory it has all its original elements, as well as being in very good mechanical condition, guaranteed by the services carried out at official Mercedes-Benz dealers.
