This iconic story follows “Neo” (Keanu Reeves) a young man hacker who leads a double life. By day she works in a computer services company, while at night she is dedicated to infiltrating databases and high security systems. Her life changes when she meets Trinity (carrie-Anne Moss), a mysterious young woman who seems to be a legend in the world of hackers IT. She leads him to their leader, Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne), who reveals a terrible reality: humanity is unknowingly trapped within a simulated reality called the “Matrix.” Neo decides between joining the resistance or continuing with life as he knows it.

Directed by sisters Lana and Lilly Wachowski, Matrix It is classified as the last great masterpiece of science fiction of the 20th century. A film that still gives a lot to talk about more than 20 years after its release for its innovative narrative, revolutionary visual effects and philosophical questions.
The original film took home the four Oscars it competed for in 2000: Best Editing, Sound, Sound Editing and Visual Effects. It was also included in the National Film Registry of the United States Library of Congress in 2012, which each year selects 25 films for preservation as being “culturally, historically or aesthetically significant.”
With a collection of $463.5 million, the success of Matrix inevitably led to the launch of a saga. First, with the film sequels matrix Reloaded and Matrix revolutions in 2003. By 2021, a fourth film titled Matrix Resurrections.
When and where to see the revival of Matrix?
Cinépolisthrough its alternative content window Más que Cine (+QUE CINE), will screen Matrix of the November 2 to 8, 2023. It will be exhibited in nine cities of the Mexican Republic: CDMX, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Toluca, Ciudad Juárez, Puebla, Cuernavaca, Veracruz and Cancún.
