The Nintendo Direct that just ended has confirmed, among other surprises such as the return of Goldeneye, that Project Zero 4: Mask of The Lunar Eclipse will be coming to the West for the first time and to all available consoles, including Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S . The original title was developed in 2008 by Grasshopper Manufacture (Lollipop Chainsaw, Killer is Dead, No More Heroes) for Wii and featured five girls who are kidnapped and taken to a mental hospital on Rougetsu Island. Once there, they are rescued by detective Choushiro Kirishima. However, when ten years after what happened, two of them die, the remaining three and the detective will return to the scene, convinced that this island has something to do with it.
Project Zero 4: Mask of The Lunar Eclipse is also coming to Xbox Series X|S
Project Zero 4 continues the line of its predecessors, combining the pure elements of the survival-horror with rites, beliefs and locations of Asian Shintoism. Thanks to the three playable characters, detective Choushiro Kirishima, Ruka Minazuki and Misaki Asô and Madoka Tsukimori, who share the campaign, we will discover what secrets the Rougetsu Island mansion and hospital hides, in which masks, ghosts and memories will play a determining role.
The game is scheduled to be released in 2023 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 | 5, Steam, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S in 2023. Although the specific date is unknown at the moment, Koei Tecmo has decided to join the string of survival horror titles that will arrive next year, bringing us one of their cult titles.
