Although the Marvel Studios Cinematic Universe has a coherence in everything it does, there seems to be no grand plan behind it all.
Since the movies were released in 2008 Hombre de Hierro and The incredible Hulkthey have not stopped making deliveries of Marvel Studios. In fact, there are already more than 25, without forgetting that they also add series to the platform Disney Plus. So there are many hours of content and what stands out the most is that everything forms a great story. but the director Joe Russo reveals that there is no plan and they react after each premiere.
“The way Marvel Studios works is: I’m sure at some point someone will talk in detail about this, but part of the brilliance of Kevin Feige is that there really isn’t a plan. There’s an idea, but you can’t have a plan if the movie you’re making fails. No plan after that, right? So it’s really just that, as the movie became successful, there was a kind of excitement about, Well, what else could we do?
“And that’s when new ideas came up. And there was hope, hope that one day we can make it into the story if you keep doing this, right? Maybe we can all get there, like Infinity War and Endgame, but a lot of the stuff was made up between the movies.”
Phase 4 looks like it is splitting into several paths.
While the first films of Marvel Studios they gathered at the same point that was the great battle of the Avengers against Thanos, now it seems that there are different paths. Since on the one hand, we will see stories in space like The Eternals, The Marvels or Thor: Love and Thunderr. Then there will be events on Earth like Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverwhile the quantum realm and the multiverse will be very important in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. I would say that he does have a plan, maybe they used to be as he says Joe Russobut now, it is clear that they try very hard to make sense of everything.
While all these films arrive in theaters, we can see the rest of the installments in the Marvel Studios Cinematic Universe on the Disney Plus streaming platform.
