Peter Parker was bitten by a spider. Captain America was injected with supersoldier serum. Iron Man made an armor himself. But Richard Rider he was literally chosen at random from all the inhabitants of Earth to become a Nova. Marv Wolfman brought him to life in 1976, in the opening pages of ‘The man called Nova’… And now it’s Kevin Feige’s new project.
Who is Nova?
It is true that the Nova Corps, the group that Richard Rider would later join, are not rookies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe: they already appeared in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ with the face of Glenn Close (as Nova-Prime), John C Reilly and Peter Serafinowicz , nothing less. They they were in charge of guarding the gem of power. As we know, things did not end well for them.

Avengers Unite! What order should you watch all the Marvel Universe movies in?
Thanos dropped in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ that the Nova Corps were defeated, although they make a surprise appearance again at the end of ‘Endgame’. It is the perfect time to get to know Nova better, a character that is rumored to appear in the third part of the saga starring Star-Lord, Groot and company, but also could fit in ‘The Marvels’ or ‘Secret invasion’. It will depend on how far Marvel wants to power the cosmic variant of him.
It is unknown if ‘Nova’ will be a Disney+ series or movie, but we do know that it will be scripted by Sabir Pirzada, who has written two episodes of ‘Moon Knight’. It is also unknown if Nova will be the classic Richard Rider or Sam Alexander, who took up the mantle of the character in 2011, although they will most likely save this option to replace the character in a few decades.
