Mark Gurman has taken advantage of his Sunday newsletter to release his predictions for this fall and next year regarding the future of Apple. The Bloomberg Editor bets on the launch of new MacBook Pro with Apple Silicon chips and new AirPods before the end of the year.
This coincides with the rumors that we have seen recently, which predict an event in October or November at the latest in which we would see those new MacBook Pro and some AirPods 3. For more news we would have to wait until 2022, and Gurman believes that it will not be a year too busy.
A mixed reality viewer as a possible only big surprise for next year
In 2022 we would see new second generation AirPods Pro and a redesigned iPad Pro, which would adopt a glass back and wireless charging. In addition, that same charge could be used to charge the AirPods using the tablet as an induction base. We would launch the iPhone 14 and some more Macs, but there would be nothing revolutionary in them.
What could happen (and Mark insists it is only a possibility) is the presentation of a virtual and / or augmented reality viewer as Apple’s first step in that world. It would be a large device, a preview of pure virtual reality glasses that would arrive in more years. Still, the global shortage of semiconductors may cause delays in these plans. But if it happens in 2022, it would be the only surprise in a year that probably doesn’t include a shower of new products. Always according to Gurman, eye.
If the rumors come true and we see an event at the end of October, we should receive the official confirmation of it by the middle of next month. We will be attentive to that and possible new leaks as those days approach.
