The title will double the number of circuits available.
One of the great news that brought us last week, at least for the more than 43 million players around the world who have a copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for Nintendo Switch, was the announcement of an expansion pass that will add more than 40 new tracks to the title, these remasterings being seen in previous games of the saga, both console and Mario Kart Tour.
Thus, they are practically selling us half a game, which doubles the 48 tracks already present in the Nintendo Switch title. That yes, this has generated certain debates in social networks, since there will be users who will not acquire this season passwhich can cause problems online when choosing circuits.
That said, it seems that Nintendo has found a solution, since, whether you buy the pass or not, you can play the 48 new circuits for free without the need to pay for them or be subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack (these being the two possible methods to play). Yes indeed, there will be only one condition for this to happen.
Nintendo’s official website clarifies whether everyone will be able to play any tracks in multiplayer.
According to what was revealed on the next Nintendo website in the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tab, any player will be able to play the circuits of the expansion pass locally or online, being the only one that at least one player has them. In this way, it seems that will facilitate access to thesealthough that does not mean that if you play in your own game you will not have access to them.
On the other hand, it should be noted that, similar to what could be seen with Super Smash Bros Ultimate, The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Expansion Pass will arrive in 6 different installments, which will add eight new remastered tracks from previous titles. This will last until the end of 2023, so we could have one of these tracks every four months of the year, coinciding with the celebration of the three annual Nintendo Directs to which we are accustomed.
Regarding the first installment, it must be said that it will arrive on March 18, including the Coco Center circuits from Mario Kart Wii, Chocolate Mountain from Mario Kart 64, among other tracks from Mario Kart Super Circuit, Mario Kart 7 and Mario Kart Tours. That said, we will have to wait for future announcements to find out what the other eight tracks will be.
