María del Rosario Espinoza explained through the letter that she will have to pause her sports career to prioritize and dedicate all her time to her first baby who is on the way and to spend her pregnancy in the company of her family.
“Without a doubt, I will miss the training, the competition and wearing the colors of my Mexico. However, I will continue to support the Mexican Parataekwondo Team as much as possible in its preparation for the commitments that they have this year towards Paris 2024” , he adds in Espinoza’s letter.

The taekwondoin has accumulated three Olympic medals as a result of her participation in the Olympic Games in Beijing 2018, London 2012 and Rio 2016, in which she won gold, bronze and silver respectively, she is the second athlete with the most Olympic medals behind Joaquín Capilla who hung himself four.
