Madrid has another place that everyone talks about: the Manosanta churros. A churrería with a minimalist design that opens its doors in the Barrio de Salamanca and is owned by the Aragón family.
The place, small and cozy, does not look like a churrería. But the fame of its churros, or chocolate, have become a focus of attraction in this area of Madrid.
This business, owned by Nacho and Amparo (son and sister of Emilio Aragón), seeks to offer traditional churros, but in a design environment designed to attract the new generations signed by Noray Studio.
The place, located in Hermosilla 97, is elongated and hardly decorated, and has that minimalist and natural environment that is so sought after now with microcement floors or the mixture of materials such as lime and sand.
The furniture is simple and functional to adapt and make the most of the corridor shape of the premises. A long bench attached to the wall of ocher tones to give support to seven round tables, and small poufs to sit down and enjoy the calm that the place offers.
On the opposite side, the stainless steel bar, and a glass wall that allows you to see how the churrero master makes these traditional sweets that are so fashionable at the moment. At the back of the space, to give amplitude and luminosity, there mirrors that hide the door which leads to the bathrooms.
A warm and designer envelope that shows that tradition is not at odds with innovation and the detail in a place where in addition to the churros (crunchy, slightly greasy, and seasoned with cinnamon they are delicious), the batons and the different types of chocolates made daily in an artisanal way there, there are also shakes, artisan ice creams , a selection of savory proposals such as the mixed muffin or the tortilla skewer.
And we cannot forget such innovative proposals as the little sins (mini churros served in a bucket), or the deadly sin sandwich, a churro sandwich with artisan ice cream that is pure wonder.
