The BMW X5 M Competition is one of the most imposing and performing SUVs in its category. Despite its high level of exclusivity, and its few units, the Germans from Manhart give the Bavarian a more than generous twist, complementing it with a sportier extra.
Exactly a year ago MANHART Performance presented its particular creation on the BMW X5M. The preparer did not consider the SUV of the Bavarian house as a true sports car, keeping an ace up his sleeve for the most radical variant, that of the X5 M Competition that he has just unveiled.
An extra aggressiveness that provides a more radical aesthetic, with a display of carbon fiber as if it were a cheap material. Of course, it is not a product that is manufactured in series, but only on request at the request of the most exquisite customers. And it is that a large part of the body panels have been manufactured in light material, such as the engine hood in an exact reproduction in measurements, but with special open gills in the purest GTR style. The bumper is also new, exposing the cooling innards, and with a new spoiler on the lower edge that adds a sportier touch.

The sills of the skirts, divided into two sharp pieces to cut the wind, the wing mirror housings, and even the new spoiler placed under the rear window are also carbon and visible, as is the piece of the rear diffuser that sum an aerodynamic diffuser, the third LED brake light in the purest F1 style and the characteristic four exhausts. A set of novelties that contrast with the metallic black paint and golden filaments. The alloy wheels are 22 inchespainted in satin black and mounted on 295/30 tires.
Inside, manhart It has also left its mark with a special two-tone leather upholstery, and with more carbon fiber on the dashboard and multifunction steering wheel. Even the shift paddles integrated into the steering wheel, made of anodized aluminum, have been transformed giving more cache to the interior atmosphere.
Hardly anything new in this tuning specialist’s own aerodynamic package, because what really matters is under the front hood. Compared to the MANHART MHX5 800 which was based on the X5 M and taking into account that the last three digits of the tuner’s model names indicate power, the 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 loses a hundred horsepower. But they are really less, although it is compensated on the other hand. The 625 hp of maximum power and 725 Nm of torque are installed in about 730 hp and 900 Nm thanks to a new control unit, completing the package a new stainless steel exhaust system with electronically controlled flaps to deliver a sound to match.
