Gomez, 21, becomes the fourth signing of the Premier League champion in the transfer market after the arrivals of the Norwegian Erling Haaland, Kalvin Phillips and the German goalkeeper Stefan Ortega Moreno.
“City is the best team in England and with Pep Guardiola I have the opportunity to learn and develop with the most extraordinary manager in world football,” said the U-21 international, who was a player in the Barcelona youth ranks.
Being part of this club is a dream come true for me and something any young player would aspire to.
“Being able to be part of this club is a dream come true for me and something any young player would aspire to,” continued Gomez.
The sporting director of Manchester City, Txiki Begiristain, pointed out that the footballer is a young promise with a lot of talent.
“We are sure that he will bring additional quality to our team both in defense and attack and that he will only continue to develop and improve by playing with Pep and his coaches,” he said.
Guardiola announced last week the imminent arrival of Gómez, although ruled out that he was going to be loaned this season.
