Hanger 13, those responsible for the Mafia saga have uploaded an interview where its developers celebrate the 20 years of the franchise and confirm a new game in preparation.
The Mafia gangster trilogy celebrates 20 years and an interview with part of the team has been uploaded on the game’s official website: General Director Roman Hladík and Production Manager and Media Director Tomáš Hřebíček. The two have worked on every game in the series since the first, while game director Alex Cox joined the team on Mafia II.
“When we started with the first Mafia, we were only four or five people. Over time, we grew to 10, and by the time we finished it, the development team was already 20-25 people.”
Hladík: I am delighted to confirm that we have started work on a brand new Mafia project! It’s still a few years away and we can’t say anything more at the moment, but we’re very excited to continue working on this beloved series and entertaining players with new stories.
The original Mafia game will be free for a limited time on Steam from September 01 to 05.
