The Madrid Municipal Transport Company (EMT) has launched Canalejas 360, the new electric mobility ‘hub’ that will have a total of 12 recharging points and an installed capacity of 2.5 MW.
The new charging station in the city of Madrid, Gutters 360has already seen the light in the capital, becoming from that moment the most powerful in Spain among those located on urban land.
This ambitious underground project is located next to the Puerta del Sol, specifically in the section between Calle Alcalá, Sevilla and Plaza de Canalejas. The hub occupies floor -1 under Calle Sevilla, adjacent to the Canalejas complex.
Various areas of the center have been assigned to the fleets of electric carsharing operators
We talk about a below ground space of about 5500 square meters of surface next to two underground car parks -built in 1964 and 1999, respectively- that have been completely remodeled after the works carried out.
The access and exit ramp for vehicles is located at number 20 of Calle Alcalá, in front of the Alcazar Theater. It is shared access, in addition, by the public car park under Sevilla street and the private car park belonging to the Canalejas Complex.
The services offered by Canalejas 360
The new charging station, promoted by the Madrid City Council and managed by the EMTyou will have a total of 12 charging points and an installed capacity of 2.5 MW.
Four of these points will be ultra-fast recharging with a maximum power of 400KW. There will also be four ultra-fast charging points for 200KW and four others from 50KWwhich is the current optimal load standard for most commercial models.
For the charging process, users will be able to carry out their procedures through the application designed by the municipal company for the entire charging network located in those car parks it manages: Electro-EMT.
In addition to electric recharging, Canalejas 360 has an offer of electric mobility and micrologistics services from companies that are going to carry out their operations in these facilities.
In fact, various areas of the center have been assigned to the fleets of carsharing operators electric Free2Move (4 seats), Sharenow (5 seats), Zity (5 seats) and Wible (5 seats), as well as the electric motosharing companies Iberdrola (2 seats), Acciona (2 seats) and Silence (1 seat) .
The Canalejas 360 recharging service catalog is not limited to conventional vehicles, but also takes into account the urban micromobility.
The EMT BiciPark bicycle parking system has a space for the parking for up to 14 bicycles. The center also has a Seur space to promote last-mile urban distribution with electric vehicles and two slogans have been installed for parcel collection. The remodeled space also includes a car wash service.
Recharge prices in Canalejas 360
Through the application for mobile devices, Electro-EMT, the user can fully manage the service. From accessing, to activating, reserving and paying for electric recharging.
Likewise, the application will guide the user to the reserved charging station, as well as access the history of recharges and invoices. The cost of the service is 0.69 cents per kW/hour at 400 kW points; 0.49 cents KW/hour for 200 kW chargers and 0.40 KW/hour for 50 KW chargers.
