Adrien Fourmaux and Matthew Wilson were in charge of filming the Ford Fiesta Rally1 at Goodwood, thus showing the benefits of a vehicle that has a 1.6 Turbo EcoBoost gasoline engine and a hybrid system designed by Compact Dynamics with a 100 kW electric motor and a 3.9 kWh battery. A testament to the commitment of M-Sport, Ford and the WRC to hybrid technology. Mark Rushbrook, director of Ford Performance, puts it this way: «Ford is 100% committed to an electrified future. The Ford Puma Rally1 will put hybridization to the test and demonstrate that hybrid technology is able to deliver exciting performance».
For its part, Malcolm wilson as director of M-Sport he has assured: “The new era of WRC cars represents a great technological advance for the championship. The cars will be more powerful than ever, while mirroring the engines used by their street counterparts.. The change to the Ford Puma is very exciting as it has a past in rallying. The car looks fantastic and I can’t wait to see it in action at the Monte Carlo Rally in early 2022. New car launch at Godwood is special, as it is one of the most iconic events on the calendar.
