We know that the One Piece fandom extends beyond an anime convention or store, as we have seen different athletes and artists show their passion for this franchise created by Eiichiro Oda. However, we did not expect Taika Waititi, director of Thor: Love and Thunder was a fan of Monkey D. Luffyall this was revealed thanks to a post on Twitter.
Originally, Marvel Studios used their official Twitter account to share a new “behind the scenes” video in which Taika Waititi is seen wearing a sweater that has been blurred out, though it clearly had a picture of Monkey D. Luffy on the front showing. the deep affection that the director has for the captain of the mugiwara. However, this publication has been deleted from the internet, but not its evidence:
Taika Waititi was recently spotted wearing Luffy Wanted poster clothing. Would be awesome if he gets to be involved as director for couple of episodes in one piece live action….@stevemaeda @onepiecenetflix#one piece #onepieceliveaction pic.twitter.com/s4wu221OOX

The unofficial One Piece Netflix Fan account shared these images on Twitternow without Marvel’s deletion (which was of little use), it is clearly seen that his sweater indeed shows Monkey D. Luffy’s reward poster. Officially, it may just be one more souvenir, but considering the great knowledge of the medium that Taika Waititi, director of Thor: Love and Thunder, has, it may not be something casual.
For now, neither Marvel nor Netflix nor Shonen Jump have mentioned why they deleted the original publication that showed Taika Waititi wearing a Monkey D. Luffy sweater from One Piece, it is probably due to an issue of rights and use of promotional image. Be that as it may, it is undeniable that the love he has for the franchise was recorded.
Taika Waititi, director of Thor: Love and Thunder, could want to direct an episode of One Piece
Marvel Studios’ original post showed new behind-the-scenes video on the making of Thor: Love and Thunder, where director Taika Waititi is seen using a huge reference to the world of One Piece, showing how much he loves the captain of the Hat Pirates. straw. Which He has opened speculation to fans of both sagas who would like him to direct an episode of the Netflix live-action. Given the quality of this director it is not surprising that they want to see him in action.
If you’re not familiar with the story of the movie you’re currently directing, here’s a rundown of it.: “The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he has ever faced: a search for inner peace. But his retreat is interrupted by a galactic assassin known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), seeking the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of the Valkyrie King (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi), and his ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who, to Thor’s surprise, inexplicably wields her magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark on a harrowing cosmic adventure to unravel the mystery of the Butcher God’s revenge and stop him before it’s too late.”

It turns out that the director of the episode and the executive producer finished their work on the television series. They released a series of photos taken on set in South Africa to commemorate their work, and Jobst had nothing but love to share with the team behind this take on the mugiwara adventures.
