Zoink Games, a studio known for developing Fe, showed off its new video game last night at EA Play Live, which will also be released under the EA Originals label. On this occasion, the study has opted for a dark fantasy story in which we visit a world where everything is governed by the chance of the dice.
Lost in Random – that’s what this project is called – will be published in 2021 on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Its managers published last night a juicy trailer in which we can see both cinematics and parts of its gameplay, which seems to have quite a bit of hack’n’slash in the third person, although it also hints at a certain strategic component. You can see the first trailer for Lost in Random under these lines.
Action and chance in a dark fantasy city
Even, the girl who stars in Lost in Random, will live this adventure accompanied by Dicey, a talking dice that will help you defy chance. The trailer gives some clues about this universe and the city of Random that gives the game its name. “Will you succumb to your destiny or learn to use chaos in your favor?”, says the official description of this title on its newly released website.
Playable Lost in Random looks like a third-person action title. In the trailer, we have seen combat sequences against enemies in which Even uses melee weapons such as large hammers, swords or slingshots. Dicey, the dice, seems to have an important weight in the combat strategy and we will be able to place it on the stage using it as a special ability.
Perhaps what most attracts the attention of this new game from Zoink Games is its artistic section: comparisons with The Nightmare Before Christmas or The Worlds of Coraline are inevitable, not only because of the material that their characters seem to be made of, something like that between modeling clay and putty but also due to the design of the inhabitants of Random, who are reminiscent of the characters created by Tim Burton.
