The 2024 edition of Longines Global Champions Tour Mexico, presented by GNP México Jumping, arrives at Campo Marte for the eighth time. The event will take place from April 11 to 14 and will be the third venue of the circuit and the only stage in Latin America.
About 120 riders representing 28 countries will participate in the equestrian meeting: Mexico, Canada, United States, Denmark, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Colombia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Qatar, France, Germany, Ireland, Greece, Italy, Norway, Switzerland, Ecuador, Uruguay, Sweden, Argentina among others.
A high-profile event
This year, the Longines Global Champions Tour Mexico, presented by GNP México Jumping, becomes relevant for equestrian since it is an Olympic year and Mexico has qualified to compete in the individual and team events. The team has not yet been defined, but a selection will be held soon.
The event in Campo Marte will be the perfect setting for the preparation of these pairings, due to the level of competitors, height of the obstacles and difficulty of the slopes.
Like every year, the sports program is made up of two contests, both with Mexican representatives; a CSI5* where the highest level riders participate, and a CSI2* with courses of lower height and difficulty and the Global Champions League team event.
The Global Champions League (GCL) is a team event that has become a sensational sporting series since its launch in 2016 as part of the Longines Global Championship Tour Circuit.
The GCL brings together a great mix of the world's best riders from different countries. This year two Mexicans are participating: Carlos Hank Guerreiro who is part of the team, México Amigos and Fernando Martínez Sommer, with the Prague Lions team, who participate in the entire circuit.
