The Aiways brand allows us to get closer to the development process of its new 100% electric SUV. The expected Aiways U6 has completed the harsh winter tests in which it has faced extreme temperatures below 30 degrees below zero. The new U6 will go on sale in Europe before the end of the year.
The development process of the new electric car ways faces the final stretch. The young brand specialized in 100% electric mobility is in the process of international expansion after consolidating itself in its local market, China. The company is currently working at full capacity on the next model to be launched on the market, the new Airways U6.
The arrival of the one who will be Aiways’ first electric SUV Coupe It is already looming on the horizon. And to liven up the wait that lies ahead, the brand allows us to get closer to the aforementioned development process that is concentrating on Chinese territory. In this case, Aiways shows us the harsh winter tests that the expected U6 has faced.
The development of the new U6 Airways in China
Aiways has announced the completion of three months of hard winter tests with the U6. This future model has been subjected to extreme conditions. The exhaustive engineering review has made it possible to analyze the performance of the battery electric vehicle in extreme cold conditions, with special emphasis on power, steering, brakes, suspension and, of course, the electrical system.
The winter tests carried out during these months translate into more than 15,000 kilometers traveled with temperatures below 30 degrees below zero. Some tests carried out in Heihe, in the northeast Chinese province of Heilongjiang. In this area of the planet there is an extreme winter climate. In addition, the roads found there were key for the Aiways engineers to be able to drive the vehicle in really challenging conditions.
These types of tests take on greater importance when we talk about fully electric vehicles.. And it is well known that extreme temperatures especially affect the performance of the vehicle battery. The U6 employs a thermally controlled Battery Management System (BMS) for optimum performance. The system recovers the residual heat from the electric motor to heat the passenger compartment, which helps reduce the strain on the battery and, above all, achieve the maximum range possible.
