The popular video game Lollipop Chainsaw, a title of hunting zombies, cheerleaders and the fight for survival is celebrating its tenth anniversary, and along with its warm celebration there are strong rumors about a possible return, and despite the fact that it is highly probable that it will be with mocking tone, one of the creators of the 2012 game, Yoshimi Yasudathe former CEO of Kadokawa Games and executive producer of Lollipop Chain Saw, tweeted that the game, or maybe just the franchise? – “Dragami Games is back”.
No further details have been released so far, but Yasuda encouraged fans to stay tuned and “look forward to”though it’s still unclear on what, as Yasuda’s announcement of apparent plans for a Lollipop Chainsaw revival was shared in the tweet below:
That’s right, in the translation of said tweet, it says: “Lollipop Chainsaw is back by Dragami Games” with no other additional details shared as of yet, so given that the game is now 10 years old, it fits then that Yasuda celebrated the anniversary around the same time as the announcement, which was no doubt timed accordingly.
About the topic, Goichi Sudaexecutive director of Grasshopper Manufacture and director of the original game Lollipop Chainsaw, better known online as Suda51, also recently recalled the game’s anniversary, though it’s unclear how, if at all, he’s involved in any sort of return or anything planned for the game.
In addition, the director James Gunn was also involved with Lollipop Chainsaw, but again, it’s too early to say just from Yasuda’s preview who is involved in this project and what the rebirth is, as it could be a new game, a remake, a remaster, or just a relaunch on current platforms.
