Lisa Loring, best known for giving life to little Merlina in the classic sitcom The Addams family in the 1960s, he passed away at the age of 64. This was confirmed by his daughter Vanessa Foumberg (via): “She left in peace with his two daughters holding her hand.”
Laure Jacobson, a close friend of Lisa’s, had originally reported her death through a Facebook post on January 28. Loring was taken off life support at a Burbank, California hospital after suffering a massive stroke.
“It is with great sadness that I report the death of our friend, Lisa Loring. She 4 days ago she suffered a massive stroke caused by smoking and high blood pressure. She had been on life support for 3 days. Yesterday her family made the difficult decision to have it removed and she passed away last night.
She is embedded in the tapestry that is pop culture and in our hearts forever as Merlina Addams. Beautiful, kind, and a loving mother, Lisa’s legacy in the world of entertainment is enormous. And her legacy to her family and her friends: a great deal of humor, affection and love will remain in our memories for a long time. Rest in peace, Lisa. Damn, girl… you were so much fun.”

Born on February 16, 1958 in Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands, Lisa Loring gave life to the very first incarnation of Merlina through the black and white television series the mad addams. The original audiovisual adaptation of the Charles Addams comic strips consisted of two seasons —a total of 64 episodes— broadcast on ABC in the United States between 1964 and 1966.
Lisa got a chance to reprise her iconic role eleven years later thanks to the TV movie Halloween with the New Addams Family (1977), which brought together the vast majority of the original cast and was recorded in full color.
In addition to her portrayal of Merlina, Loring appeared in multiple shows such as The Phyllis Diller Show, The Girl from UNCLE, Fantasy Island, barnaby jones Y As the World Turns, where he had a recurring role as Cricket Montgomery. He also appeared in the movies slasher B-series Blood Frenzy (1987), iced (1988) and Savage Harbor (1987). His last acting credit was the film Doctor Spine of 2015.
