In Argentina, some young people have developed a liquid cooling system for bitcoin mining farms under the name of South American Miners. This was reported from the MSN finance portal. An interview published by Forbes also provided details about this undertaking.
The interest in mining in Argentina has already led to research on improvements that can be applied to bitcoin mining and there are companies that are carrying out R&D to optimize the use of computer equipment for these mining tasks, one of the objectives being to be able to install them in all types of homes in the country. And one of the cases is precisely the one mentioned above.
South American Miners, based in Palermo, Buenos Aires, is a company dedicated to the development of a cooling system for bitcoin mining. Two young Argentine entrepreneurs are at the head of this project, on the one hand the Systems Engineer, Nahuel Martínez, and on the other the entrepreneur Facundo Casal.
“We started mining Ethereum a year and a half ago, but for various reasons we ventured into Bitcoin and developed an innovative system to improve the power of the equipment,” Nahuel Martínez explained to Forbes Argentina.
Starting out in Bitcoin Mining
The business model that these entrepreneurs are developing consists of investing in bitcoin mining farms using the liquid cooling system that they have developed. As they stated, through the use of said system, the equipment achieves better performance and a lower temperature, a key point for the intense computer processing that bitcoin mining demands. In addition, they also highlighted that the noise of the equipment is reduced and the mining capacity is enhanced, making it possible to install the equipment even in homes.
The installation process, as they commented, is not complicated. First of all, a technician from the company visits the home or premises where the installation is planned to be carried out to verify that the installations will be able to withstand the energy demand of the computer equipment. Once this verification has been carried out, a budget is presented for the installation work and, finally, if the work is approved, it is carried out.
As they explained, South American Miners is in charge of the installations and of providing technical service, maintenance of the farms and administration of the equipment in case the client requests it. They aim to reach 50 clients during 2022 and they already have inquiries from cities such as Bariloche, Tucumán and San Martín de los Andes, among others.
