The time has come to celebrate with a good Mexican wine! Well, although our country is relatively new in the wine tradition, it is already widely recognized for its quality and delicious flavor. This was demonstrated worldwide at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, in which Mexican wines obtained a total of 85 medals. In addition, among the big announcements is that the 2024 edition will be held in Guanajuato, Mexico.
Currently, wine is the third most consumed alcoholic beverage in the world, which is why its importance is vital for the producing regions and is an important reference for their gastronomy and tourism. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mexico has won an average of 500 medals in the last three years and Mexican wine tourism was recognized in 2021 by the International Tourism Fair.
The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles has been rewarding the best wines from around the world for three decades and has different venues. This year it was the turn of the city of Poreč, in Croatia. There, from May 12 to 14, 350 tasters gathered to taste 7,500 samples from 50 countries.
