The health authority confirmed that our country will receive vaccines against Covid-19 from COVAX for children in September. The Global Access Fund for Covid-19 Vaccines, COVAX, will deliver to Mexico in mid-September around 10 million doses of vaccines against Covid-19, which will be used in children.
Given the lack of compliance by COVAX denounced by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador in recent days, it was highlighted that this administration could take legal action due to the lack of delivery of vaccines by COVAX; Based on an agreement for the distribution of vaccines against the coronavirus disease, he accused him of owing Mexico some 75 million dollars.
The first deliveries of biologicals, according to the Ministry of Health (SSa) will be 3.9 million between September 12 and 16; the following shipments will be for a similar amount between the 18th and the 23rd of the same month, and the last ones, of 2.2 million between the 26th and the 30th of October.
It is worth mentioning that Mexico subscribed some 52 million doses of COVAX through a payment of 160 million dollars, and with this last distribution, the 75 million dollars claimed by President López Obrador will be covered.
According to the United Nations Organization (UN), since April 2021, the country has received 47.7% of the total agreed upon vaccines.
to recover coverage
The SSa also reported that a coverage recovery campaign will be carried out for the hexavalent vaccination of boys and girls in their first year of life.
Similarly, the vaccines will be applied from September 5 to 30 with an intensive phase, while a follow-up phase will be applied from October 1 to November 30 and will close at the end of the year.
In sum, detailed the health authority, 2.1 million girls and boys will be vaccinated, in addition to polio, the vaccine protects against pneumonia, whooping cough, tetanus, as well as the hepatitis B virus.
A second vaccination campaign against the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) was also announced, which will apply to girls between 13 and 14 years of age, from November 21 to December 31. It will apply to girls aged 13 and 14 or who are in first and second year of secondary school. The goal is to vaccinate 2.5 million girls. Women aged 11 to 49 years living with HIV will also be vaccinated.
The pandemic brought with it a reduction in access to vaccines in general, however, this must be addressed and coverage recovered.
In the face of insecurity, armored glass?
To better understand the concept of armored glass, Dulce Tafoya, president of the CNB Armored Glass Manufacturers Commission, explained that its composition includes several layers of glass, which are joined through plastic materials to form a single piece. Its minimum thickness is 13 mm, and it can reach up to 120 mm, while the thickness of an anti-theft film can be a maximum of 4 mm.
Armored glass is classified by levels, depending on its thickness, and is related to the type of protection, from minor to major, since they offer defense against short, long weapons and even explosives; They can also include the glass used in architectural shielding, which protects against armed attacks, hurricanes or even used as noise insulation. There are more and more uses and they are more accessible to the customer.
According to Tafoya, the CNB has 11 associated companies, which manufacture and market throughout the national territory, and not only that, but now it is exported, in the case of armored glass, to countries such as Israel, Guatemala, Chile , El Salvador, Spain and the United States. Nothing bad.
the medicine cabinet
- After the drowned child…, they say out there. Hopefully, the level of vaccination in infants that Mexico had before this six-year term can be recovered, when our country was an international example in this area. The course was lost, but it is never too late to turn the helm.
